NO ♥: tiny rant

refan:

I always whine about how people should comment more on my fics and this is not an exception lol. Thanks to the flag counter I can see the traffic, but it’s really sad when ~300 people visit my LJ and I get only like 3 comments on the chapter. It makes me feel like I haven’t done enough (maybe…

As an self-proclaimed author myself, I completely concur. Sadly, if you get like 200 views, it really means you get like 2 or 4 comments in return. In my case, I sometimes get mentions on Twitter or tumblr messages that I really appreciate, but I would like to say this on behalf of all writers (not only fan-fic).

We’re writing because we like it, and a good writer writes not for a reader, but for himself/herself. If you don’t like what you’re writing - chances are reader will not like it as well. Nevertheless, what’s the use of a work that no one reads? I understand that commenting is somewhat annoying (I’m really bad at commenting myself), but I always try to leave a comment if I read something, because it shows the author that he/she is being appreciated and the effort is not in vain. It takes HOURS to write a decent chapter, we don’t get paid for it, so our biggest reward is really… readership and a nice word from you all.

I personally do not complain really, and I always say that I will keep on writing as long as I will have at least one person commenting. Be that person.

ain't no sunshine: I’m tired of people complaining about 2PM’s lack of Korean comeback....

retropedia:

I’m tired of people complaining about 2PM’s lack of Korean comeback. You aren’t even in Korea, so why do you care so much… we still get CFs, magazines, Japanese releases, SOLO SONGS on Lo2PM and the Clothes Album, etc. The only difference is 2PM not being on a ton of variety shows (but when WGM…

MTE. I could write an essay-long rant on this one. But just leaving this one here, cuz Retro is 100% right.

I’m really not into those “quote” things. But you know, it’s one of those times…

I like Heartbeat. I don’t want Heartbeat.

Yesterday, my friend and me re-watched all Heartbeat promo period vids in HD on her huge telly. Short conversation topics were as usual:

 • the hair *_*
 • Chan’s face lololol theatre
 • Taec’s only 20 there O_O
 • they still look the same -_-
 • wow, they were skinny
 • but they’re only 19-21 there
 • oh gee, look they’re dying

The latter thought was voiced when we moved over to the 3rd Heartbeat week vids. The first 2 weeks were very energetic, and they were trying so hard, perfect sync, like the one you usually see in good newbie bands when they are trying hard (think Teen Top or B.A.P), when they NEED to try hard. But starting with the 3rd week, their faces were the best proof of how EXHAUSTED they were.

Then I thought. Sure. We’ve been waiting for the comeback for… what… now 1.5 years? Ha, well, back when I was in Cassie-land, we’ve waited for more. It’s not too bad yet. And well, they’re not newbies anymore. They won’t have really long promotion activities (actually Heartbeat promo itself was only 1 month and a half). They no longer need to prove anything, and actually they’re on the level when they can do whatever they want.

Naturally, this way they lose a lot of Korean fans. But you know what, SHINee lost more >.>” And I’d rather have them sleep 1 hour more, than look like zombies even without make-up.

Plus, coming out with “something like Heartbeat”, would mean that Heartbeat was the best they could come up with (actually, it was lol), and they don’t think they can do anything better. So it would be like giving up.

And finally, they’re not 20-year-olds anymore. Ask any dance singer, and he will tell you that it’s getting hard to keep up with the same intense schedule once you hit 22 or 23. You need to take care of yourself more, and regain all the energy you have lost. Pulling an all-nighter when you’re 18 is a lot easier.

I dunno why I’m writing all this, because tumblerers (lol what a word) seldom read text posts, but yeah. I will treasure Heartbeat as something special, but I think it’s time to suck it up and move on, because you can never know what other awesomeness is waiting over there around the corner.

And as for the next stage, I choose to wait for Chansung’s drama. Yep. Bring it on, actor Hwang *_*

2PM 30 day challenge. Day 3

Day 3: Your favourite album

-2PM Members Selection-

Why? Check out the track list and you will get why. Even though it doesn’t have some of my favourite songs (like 영화처럼, All Night Long or Back 2U), it is definitely one of the best presents for a 2PM fan. Plus all the cards and a photobook. But honestly, if I were to buy a 2PM-present for a friend who has no idea what 2PM is, I’d get this album. Best introductory to 2PM music ever. Also the re-recorded songs sound amazing. Junho’s voice in 돌아올지도 몰라, 니가 밉다 and Again & Again just makes your insides melt. Too bad it was a 20,000 copies Limited Edition (i haz it mwahahaha).

And for butt-hurt Jay fans well, what can I say. His voice couldn’t have been included in this album, LEGALLY. Because the contract is over. And people who say oh no, Jay was part of 2PM why they ruined the songs. For the love of, the old versions didn’t disappear anywhere. Grow up and live on. It’s been over 3 years already. 3 YEARS. Some idol bands don’t even last that long.

Jang Wooyoung 4 times in a week…

Who would have ever thought…

Tuesday - You & I filming

Thursday - Mnet Countdown

Friday - Music Bank

Sunday - Inkigayo…

Of course, I skipped class and work on Thu & Fri, but will get back to it… What should I say… It was impressive and terribly tiresome and yet awarding week. The most impressive thing to me was 2NITE performance on Emca, because we were like 3 metres away from the stage, and he was really really ENJOYING the song. I’ve mentioned this earlier already, but even though most of the international fans do not feel the song (from what I’ve seen on Twitter), it really seems to be the style he likes. And the way he reacts to the screams. xD You scream louder, he squirms and wiggles more. Fans scream even louder, he goes closer to the edge of stage, wearing that trademark smirk of his, and pointing at you. It’s also obvious how he scans the audience before the performance, looking for familiar faces (after 4 days I can tell apart most of the Jangppas myself, I bet he knows them all by heart after 4 years XD)

You & I will be broadcast in a few hours, so can’t spoil anything. Although the funniest part (which came out on the preview) was when he came for the talk part and kept on wiping his face with a tissue, because it was hot after the performance, and eventually, he couldn’t take it anymore, so he was like: I’m really sorry, but it’s really hot, can I take [my clothes] off? SBS Open Hall: SCREAAAAAM. XD

As far as MuBank is concerned, there were Wooyoung’s mom and grandma ^^ And Taec, Chan and Junho. Oh oh, and there’s this Wooyoung fanboy going to all performances, you must’ve heard him scream during the Showcase. He’s actually really cute, still in high school, talked to him today, cuz he’s a fellow woogler and all, but amg, he’s so loud. Like WOOYOUNGIE HYUUUUUUUUUUUNG ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!! It’s rather amusing, but gets slightly annoying after a while, and Taec was like: TOO LOUD!! XD

Today at Inkigayo, I heard that at least 120 people could not get in into the SBS open hall (usually for pre-recording everyone gets in), but there were just too many people :( Oh, and Wooyoung’s parents were sitting right behind me…. next to that fanboy (Inga PD-nim was also like TOO LOUD! when the boy screamed WOOYOUNGIE HYUNGGGGGG!!! lol)

Overall, I have to say that Wooyoung looks pretty much the same live as on TV. Expect that camera cannot really catch the wholeness (?) of his movements. His steps are really light and seem to be so easy. Also the way he moves is absolutely mesmerizing. And even though he’s not that tall and slightly skinny, his perfect proportions make him look like an action figurine. I have mixed feelings right now. It’s like, you can’t really own him, but you want to keep on seeing him. But if you can’t own him, what’s the use of trying to see him? lol

Overall, a really admirable person. And all the time when the cheers at Inga were tearing off the roof, I couldn’t help but wonder what his parents were thinking (Wooyoung’s dad is pretty tall by the way, I mean, by Korean standards). I hope they were proud of him. He filled up SBS Open Hall all by himself (even though the place isn’t really as big as it looks on TV).

P.S. In between filming, Namyong strutted across the stage randomly and people were like NAMYONG OPPA NAMYONG SHIN YOU LOOK GREAT!! ARGH!! He then stopped, turned his face towards the audience (he was wearing shades) as if acknowledging it, and walked away. ㅋㅋㅋ

<3

And I’m leaving Korea in a month. Eek!

zhmogeliukas~: Unpopular kpop opinion

zhmogeliukas:

I held that for myself for a long time, and thought about should I post it or not,and where should I, because in some groups I would be eaten alive for that, but - I don’t get it, how people talk about “hundreds of biases” or about few biases from each group…I have only one bias and other people…

That’s because there are Hallyu fans (who like everyone) and XXXXX (insert group name here) fans. Hallyu fans are the dominant group among the International fans while Korean fans are more like what you describe - supporting only one band (or even one MEMBER of the band). It’s just parts of different sub-culture and there’s no right or wrong, because everyone is entitled to his/her own preferences, and even though there are many instances when I don’t share the same opinion with the others I agree to disagree, because discussions and disputes are pointless at this point.

I know I’ve already replied to this on Facebook, but I just copy-and-pasted, because these days I’m actually finding myself at odds with an exactly opposite opinion when I deal with Korean fandom. Some of my Korean friends are even like: “I kinda hate it how there are Junho and Junsu’s songs in the 23_male_single, it was supposed to be Wooyoung-only time.”

*shrug*

So yeah, there are two polarized sides that we have to deal with, but rather than trying to persuade people into believing one thing or the other, I tend to choose the “live and let live” position, as long as they don’t tamper with my own likes and preferences.

Also, one of the biggest problems in this is that we are dealing with international audiences and there are BOUND to be misunderstandings and miscommunication due to language barrier and semantic differences. However, I just don’t see why I should waste my time and nerve on people who are merely following what they like. Kpop might be a religion for someone, but you know, no one is obliged to believe in it. Everyone makes a little Kpop world for himself/herself and even if say, you and your friend stan the same band and the same member, the way you see them will definitely be different. If the points of view overlap at some point, then great, you have a common ground. If not, no harm done.

Oh dear God, it turned into an essay. Sorry about that. Anyway, my point is, the number of opinions out there equals to the number of people and it is normal that they do not coincide sometimes. As long as we have at least one common ground, we can walk the same path for a while, if that common ground disappears, then I suppose it’s only natural that the connection and the relationship break apart. There’s nothing wrong about it. People change all the time. Peace.

Euphoria
Loreen

Eurovision 2012 - SWEDEN - Loreen - Euphoria.

The winner of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. A classic example of Europop, and you can see that this kind of music style shines through Kpop nowadays. Kpop is heavily influenced by R’n’B, that’s true, but lately I see more and more features on Europop in it (I mean, Infinite is basically copying the Modern Talking style from the 80’s). Back in school, I was never a fan of Europop, I thought it to be too simple and too noisy, but now… for some reason, it feels like home.

And great song. Listened to it the whole time yesterday while writing Vampire PM. Europop lives!^^b

Trying to fall back into it…

Vampire PM Junho in my mind changed from this…

Into this…

… I don’t even… and I think his background should be a medical student, I mean, otherwise it would be really weird for him to catch up on the molecular biochemy and what not that fast… even though he’s smart and all…

yes, I’m writing Chapter 31. So far have 7 pages done. 15 more and I’ll post it… wish me luck.

Aside from Miss A and 2PM being as fabulous as ever, check out the way Korean tourism market it projected. Shopping and food. Oh and Jeju-do. That’s it. That’s how it’s being sold to Japanese, Chinese and South-East Asians. Although I do see where they’re coming from, because flights are cheap and so are some goods, but that’s only if you want to stuff your stomach and buy clothes that will make you look like everybody else… Oh, I forgot, if you look different here you are an outcast.
*cranky European mode off*

(you know I actually miss seeing goths and emos, the only goth I saw was a fan dressed as Dongwan from Yo! days at Shinhwa’s fansign…)
