I like Heartbeat. I don’t want Heartbeat.
Yesterday, my friend and me re-watched all Heartbeat promo period vids in HD on her huge telly. Short conversation topics were as usual:
- the hair *_*
- Chan’s face lololol theatre
- Taec’s only 20 there O_O
- they still look the same -_-
- wow, they were skinny
- but they’re only 19-21 there
- oh gee, look they’re dying
The latter thought was voiced when we moved over to the 3rd Heartbeat week vids. The first 2 weeks were very energetic, and they were trying so hard, perfect sync, like the one you usually see in good newbie bands when they are trying hard (think Teen Top or B.A.P), when they NEED to try hard. But starting with the 3rd week, their faces were the best proof of how EXHAUSTED they were.

Then I thought. Sure. We’ve been waiting for the comeback for… what… now 1.5 years? Ha, well, back when I was in Cassie-land, we’ve waited for more. It’s not too bad yet. And well, they’re not newbies anymore. They won’t have really long promotion activities (actually Heartbeat promo itself was only 1 month and a half). They no longer need to prove anything, and actually they’re on the level when they can do whatever they want.
Naturally, this way they lose a lot of Korean fans. But you know what, SHINee lost more >.>” And I’d rather have them sleep 1 hour more, than look like zombies even without make-up.
Plus, coming out with “something like Heartbeat”, would mean that Heartbeat was the best they could come up with (actually, it was lol), and they don’t think they can do anything better. So it would be like giving up.
And finally, they’re not 20-year-olds anymore. Ask any dance singer, and he will tell you that it’s getting hard to keep up with the same intense schedule once you hit 22 or 23. You need to take care of yourself more, and regain all the energy you have lost. Pulling an all-nighter when you’re 18 is a lot easier.
I dunno why I’m writing all this, because tumblerers (lol what a word) seldom read text posts, but yeah. I will treasure Heartbeat as something special, but I think it’s time to suck it up and move on, because you can never know what other awesomeness is waiting over there around the corner.
And as for the next stage, I choose to wait for Chansung’s drama. Yep. Bring it on, actor Hwang *_*
